Nokia 2330

Jadi berhubung kemarin ada yang beli handphone baru, maka saya ikut numpang dibeliin saja sekalian. Akhir tahun malah beli handphone…setengah ga rela sih, tapi mau gimana lagi, semuanya demi kelangsungan pekerjaan, dan ‘ketenangan hidup’ (edit).

Handphone ini keren. Awet! Bahkan sesudah jatuh atau terinjak pun, masih tidak ada masalah. Benar-benar produk Nokia yang awet.

OK, mungkin lebih mudah untuk cek email, main game (www.partypoker.com), dan menyimpan agenda di handphone yang baru dan keren, tapi kalau cuma buat telepon dan ditelepon, handphone ini sudah mencukupi. Dan ga malu-maluin lah tampilannya. Viva my Nokia 2330!

So, welcome my new Nokia 2330…yang belum sudah lunas (29 Desember).

New Decent Headphone

Last Sunday, I went out to have my hair cut, afterwards I went to a music store and finally bought myself a new headphone. It wasn’t planned really as I just meant to look around, until I stumbled upon this Philips SHP2700, and for few moments I did the silly thing: grab the box, put it back on the shelves, grab it again, put it back again, and so forth. I finally decided to give it a try (as they allow this) on their music player. After testing and considering that I don’t have any decent headphones or speakers, I guess it’s OK for me to spend some cash on this.

I am not an audiophile myself but I do have musically trained ears :) and with a few EQ tweaks, so far I think the headphone is really up for its value: decent sound – not too expensive – comfortable (with a decent and soft cushioning) – 3 metres cable – 3 way adjustability – and outside sound isolation is fair. Few downsides are: though the cushioning is comfortable I would prefer faux leather on it – the body is in plastic, fragile and makes a little noise – chrome plated connector instead of gold and the cable should be thinner and lighter.

Above all, I think money is well spent on this.

New Mobile Phone

As my old mobile phone crashed, I needed a new mobile phone with a good capability and of course it must suit my budget.

So last Friday I bought Nokia 5800, I’m not a big fan of Nokia, in fact this is my first high-end (or probably mid-end?) Nokia mobile phone. The reason why I bought this phone is that it offers great features – HSDPA (3.5G), wi-fi, music player (tho I am not a fan of music player on mobile phone and never using it), touch screen, and few more other good features – and the best thing is that it comes in a reasonable price (3 million rupiahs).

Some of you would probably ask :

“Why not Blackberry?” Well, I never thought of getting a Blackberry as i think it’s a ‘useless’ phone (3+ million rupiahs (the cheapest type of a Blackberry is about 3.5 million rupiahs) with no HSDPA, no video call capability (ok maybe not all of us need video call and/or not using it all the time) come on…what? Blackberry Messenger? oh, no thanks..I have lot of important things to do other than just free chatting or messaging) lots of better mobile phone with better features with such price, so I won’t consider Blackberry unless they throw some new and greater features in.
“What about iPhone?” I’d love to but for now with the price is still high, I’d rather get an iMac – work always comes first, doesn’t it? ;)

So, welcome Nokia 5800 hope you last longer than the last one.

Upgrading Macbook RAM

Since Thursday night my PC’s mainboard is out of order. So while waiting for my PC to be recovered, I was thinking to upgrade my Macbook RAM, and finally today I got it done by upgrading it to 4GB.

For the meantime I work only with my Macbook. Sorry to my office and clients as some works are a bit delayed.

Ericsson R310s

So, few weeks ago I got an offer of a brand new Ericsson R310s, the guy said that this is brand new and he bought it in the Netherlands. I am a keen admirer of this model, and never got the chance to have the phone before (and this model is discontinued by Ericsson itself). So we strucked a deal, and I bought the phone. It came with phone charger and handsfree, no box, as he said that it would be very risky (and to avoid customs hassle) to bring this from the Netherlands to Indonesia (I know it’s risky and not allowed to buy this kind of phone but for the sake of the phone, particularly this model, I don’t care :D)

And two days ago the courier delivered the phone, so I opened up the package, and yes, it looks mint and brand new. So far it works fine (after kept losing signal during its first day here). People talking about Blackberries, Androids and iPhones..but at the moment I am just happy with this ;)
