I am now running Leopard 10.5.6…yaaayyy! Have just finished update to the latest one.

Seems good so far, only need to get used to this MacOS a bit. If you were asking me why I choose to get a new Mac notebook over Windows notebook, it’s not because I am an Apple or Mac fanatics or the one who thinks using Mac is cool or better than Windows based computer/laptop users. Before I decided to get a Macbook, just like any other people who want to get a new tool for their works, I did some research, and at first I was worried about getting all the programs and softwares which usually I put on my Windows PC, I was thinking would it be possible to get them in my mac also? After reading some articles about the pros and cons using Mac (which you could probably found tons of them on the net), the answer is, no worries, there are a lot of softwares or programs which can do the same function as in Windows whether they are coming from the same software manufacturer or from different ones , so I think I should not worried too much about this, and beside that Intel-based Macbooks are Windows ready, so in a worst case scenario if i needed to get Windows on my Mac, I could install it on the spot.

If you asked me which one is better, I would pick Mac or other UNIX based systems over Windows but this is not the main case here, I have my own opinions why I chose Mac over Windows, one that stands out is that
I want to try something new, just as simple as that. And fortunately I am currently working in web field, particularly in web design and development, as it can run in any platform/OS (and thankfully I am not developing using any of Microsoft products like .Net or other Microsoft products) so I don’t think there should be a big problem to migrate from Windows to Mac (well not completely migrating, I still have my dual screen PC here). But the point is, it’s always good to try and learn something new, something which you probably never had or done before to be added to your experience, at least you understand how it works and how it is compared to others just to enrich your views (in this particular thing, it’s between Mac and Windows). And of course yes, to be added to your resume of course, later when you are advanced enough, should go under ‘Familiarities’ or ‘Technical Proficiency’ item in your resume ;) hehe..

Well, this is just a note of someone who just got his new notebook and apparently it’s a Mac. I don’t mean to be fanatic for one side or to compare too much between Mac and Windows, it’s all your choice :) Just please spend your money wisely on your working tool(s) and never be afraid in trying something new for your works.
